Treatment of head and neck tumor using intraoperative radiotherapy and simultaneous microsurgical reconstruction

Case report of successful combined modality treatment in female patient with locally advanced cranioorbotofacial angiofibroma, who underwent radical cranioorbitofacial resection with intraoperative radiotherapy and immediate microsurgical reconstruction is presented. The follow-up period was 12 years.

The introduction of IORT with simultaneous reconstructive surgery to clinical practice significantly extended the indications to radical treatment of patients previously considered incurable.
